In May 1996 Rettenmeier GmbH&Co., installed a Simatek series 3C-JM 280/85-05 with high temperature Procon bags (spun PPS, scrim supported needle-felt), which were heat and chemical resistant, with a total length of 8.50 meters (27 ft. long).

The 3C filter was installed to capture dust, which is a flue gas from a wood waste fired boiler. The boiler at Rettenmeier's is manufactured and sold by Aalborg Boilers, Denmark, and is especially designed to burn highly contaminated wood waste products with contents of zinc, chlorides, chlorine, and SO2. The boiler generates steam and power, with the total capacity of 24 tph of steam and about 20 Mwa of electricity.

There has been only positive results since the 3C bag filter was installed, even though exhaust temperatures of the flue gas jump from 80 degrees Celsius up to 190 degrees Celsius, Rettenmeier have not experienced any problems with the Procon bags. The Simatek filter with its circular construction, 27-foot long bags, top entry, and cyclonic effect of the gas distribution ensures a maximized emission control of the toxic fumes caused by the contaminated wood waste fuel.
